Can You Make Bakwan With Rice Flour?
Generally, the main ingredient of flour in bakwan is medium protein flour, but some add other flour to produce bakwan with a different texture. Generally, people add sago flour, rice flour, or even a combination of the two.

- 150 gr kuchai leaves, cut 0.5-0.8 cm
- 3 cloves of garlic, puree
- 3 red onions, finely chopped
- 1.5 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 150 gr medium protein flour
- 30 gr cornstarch
- 300 ml cold water / ice water
- 2 tbsp reboned prawns

How to make
- 1. Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, mushroom broth and pepper.
- 2. Enter the onion duo, pour 2/3 of the water first, mix well, then pour the rest. The consistency of the dough is not runny but not too thick either.
- 3. Enter the kuchai and rebon prawns, mix well.
- 4. Pour a lot of oil into the pan and soak the mold in the oil, turn on the stove, use medium heat.
- 5. When the oil is hot, remove the mold from the oil, immediately fill it with the batter, put the rebon prawns on top while pressing so that the prawns don't come loose when frying.
- 6. Fry until brown, remove and drain. Serve with chili sauce, enjoy.
Sambal Ingredients
- 8 red chilies
- 3 big red chilies
- (For the 2 chilies above can be replaced with 6 curly chilies)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 100 ml water
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp kitchen vinegar
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- Finely blend the chilies, garlic plus water, add all other ingredients (except vinegar), cook on low heat until boiling, add vinegar, let simmer for a while until thickened, remove and cool.
