Watermelon Putu Ayu Ingredients

  • 1/2 btr grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 pandan leaves
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 gr sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1 tsp Munjung SP
  • 150 gr low protein flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp Athena baking powder @zeelandia_indonesia
  • 130 ml of instant coconut milk (2 small sachets)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Red, green and yellow food coloring.
  • Black sesame to taste.

How to Make Watermelon Putu Ayu

  • 1. Steam the mixture of grated coconut, salt and pandan leaves for 15 minutes.
  • 2. Mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla and sp until thick and thick.
  • 3. Sieve some of the flour, cornstarch and baking powder into the mixture, stir again using a spatula until well blended.
  • 4. Enter the coconut milk, stir then add the remaining flour mixture. Finally add oil, stir until smooth.
  • 5. Divide the dough into 4 parts, two more doughs are added each with yellow and red coloring, two less doughs are added green coloring and the other one is left plain. Mix well. Put each dough into a piping bag.
  • 6. Prepare a mold that has been smeared with oil.
  • 7. Add black sesame at the bottom of the mold. Spray the red dough or yellow dough up to 1/2 the mold, then spray the white dough on the edges only, add grated coconut in the middle, cover the green dough on top.
  • 8. Steam for 20 minutes on medium heat. The steaming pot is preheated to a boil.
