songpyeon/chuseok rice cake

Material A

  • 180 grams of glutinous rice flour
  • 140 gr warm water (can be added)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Material B

  • 4 tablespoons coarsely ground roasted sesame
  • 2 tbsp sugar/brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • pinch of salt

Material C

  • Sufficient Cold Water

Spread Ingredients

  • Sesame oil to taste
  • 2 drops pink food coloring

How to make

  • -mix all ingredients A except water then pour water little by little until the dough can be pulverized. then divide into 2 doughs, one is white and one is pink and then cover with a clean cloth
  • -prepare ingredients B, mix well and set aside
  • -Take 1 tablespoon of dough (according to taste) flatten it into a round shape then fill it with the filling, round it then form a half circle like a crescent moon
  • -do it until the dough runs out
  • -Heat the steamer with the leaves and a little oil, arrange the SongPyeon into the steamer and then steam for 15 minutes or until cooked
  • -prepare cold water, dip the songpyeon in cold water for a while then remove and drain on a plate then brush with sesame oil
