Marble Cake Ingredients

  • 250 g margarine mix butter or can be full margarine, just according to taste

  • 5 egg whites + 2 tbsp muncung granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tar or 1 tsp lime juice (optional)
  • 40 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 150 g flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder (optional, can be skipped)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder, sieve until smooth into a bowl

How to Make Marble Cake

  • 1. Prepare all the ingredients. Sift flour, vanilla and bp. set aside
  • 2. Prepare a 22 cm diameter baking dish, grease with margarine then sprinkle lightly with flour or smear with Carlo (I smeared Carlo KW: 1 tsp margarine + 1 tsp oil + 1 tsp flour mix well)
  • 3. Preheat the oven on medium heat
  • 4. Beat margarine/butter with powdered sugar until well blended and slightly pale in color (about 3 minutes, don't over mix). Add the sweetened condensed milk, beat until well blended. Add the egg yolks one at a time, beat until thoroughly combined. Lower the speed to the lowest speed, add the dry ingredients, beat until just combined. Don't over mix. Turn off the mixer.
  • 5. Clean the mixer feet from the dough. Wash and dry until completely dry. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with 2 tablespoons of sugar and cream of tar until soft peaks (egg whites look soft and shiny, and stiff when you lift the mixer foot)
  • 6. Mix the egg whites with the egg yolk mixture in 3 stages. Stir gently with a spatula or whisk, just until combined. Don't stir too hard and don't over mix.
  • 7. Take the dough to taste then mix with cocoa powder. Stir well.
  • 8. Pour the white batter to cover the bottom of the pan. Then pour the chocolate mixture with a tablespoon alternately with the white mixture. Do it until the dough runs out, make a marble motif with a skewer or spoon handle in a spiral motion. Bake until cooked.
