Rujak Rambutan

rujak rambutan

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch rambutan, seeds removed (choose a good quality one like rapiah or binjai, so it's easy to remove the seeds)
  • 1 large lime
  • 5 key oranges / limes, cut in half
  • 1/2 fruit Mango kweni (where I call it Mango kweni, it's a Mango that is usually eaten shaved, has a distinctive smell)
  • 1 medium sized brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 4-5 large red chilies
  • 3 pieces of curly red chili, cut into 2
  • 1 piece of garlic
  • 500 ml boiled water (or according to taste)

How to make

  • 1. Boil large red chilies and garlic, until wilted
  • 2. Blend large red chilies and garlic with a little water, set aside
  • 3. Blender Mango Kweni with a little water, set aside
  • 4. Bring the water to a boil, add the brown sugar, let the brown sugar dissolve
  • 5. After the brown sugar is dissolved, add the chili and garlic blender, mix well
  • 6. Add sugar and salt, mix well
  • 7. Enter the mango kweni blender, mix well
  • 8. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, remove and let cool
  • 9. After it cools down, strain the rujak sauce, throw away the dregs
  • 10. Put the lime juice into the salad dressing
  • 11. Arrange rambutan in a container
  • 12. Also add the key oranges
  • 13. Sprinkle rambutan with rujak sauce, mix well
  • 14. Chill in the refrigerator before enjoying

Note

  • - Must boil chili and garlic so that the rujak sauce doesn't smell bad / raw smell
  • - You can skip the use of mango kweni, but later the results are not as fragrant and thick as if you use mango kweni
