Taiwanese Castella Cake

Ingredients

  • 100 gr low protein flour
  • 100 gr liquid milk
  • 100 gr vegetable oil (coconut cooking oil)
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste (optional)
  • 6 egg whites
  • 100 gr sugar
  • tsp salt

How to make

  • 1. In a bowl, add flour (sifted), liquid milk, oil, stir until smooth, then add the egg yolks one by one, mix again until smooth using a whisk, set aside
  • 2. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, add salt and sugar gradually until soft peaks
  • 3. Enter the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites, fold back with a spatula until smooth (don't over mix)
  • 4. Pour into a baking sheet that has been lined with baking paper, then line it with a larger baking sheet and fill with hot water.
  • 5. Bake in preheat oven at 150 C for 50-60 minutes on top and bottom fire
  • 6. Once cooked, remove from the oven
  • Ready to enjoy
