How to make

  • 1. Slice the onion crosswise, remove one by one to form rings. Soak in ice water for 15 minutes. Drain well.
  • 2. Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, powdered broth and ground pepper, mix well.
  • 3. Coat the onions with the flour mixture, reserving the flour mixture
  • 4. Make a wet dough: mix the beaten egg with the remaining flour mixture, mix well. Add ice water until the dough is medium thick (not too thick or too runny)
  • 5. Dip the onion in the wet mixture, then roll it in the breadcrumbs. Do it until the dough runs out. Store in a closed container, put in the freezer for 30 minutes so that the breadcrumbs adhere perfectly.
  • 6. Heat enough cooking oil (until the onions are submerged) over medium heat. Add onions, fry until golden. Lift and drain.
