1. Preheat the oven to 175°C from top to bottom. Prepare a 22cm round tin with a little butter, and sprinkle with a little flour until evenly distributed.
2. In a bowl, beat / mixer butter, sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Add flour, cocoa powder, vanilla sugar and salt. Stir with a spatula until well combined and a lump-free dough is formed.
3. Pour the batter into the pan. Smooth the surface.
4. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the surface of the cake sets. Turn off the oven.
5. Let the cake cool at room temperature before cutting and serving. Give a sprinkling of icing sugar and fresh berries, if you like.
