What is Tau Suan Made of?

Lek tau suan is a food made from peeled green beans. This food that comes from China is cooked together with a mixture of clear thick sauce made of tapioca flour, sugar, and pandan. Lek tau suan is usually served with crispy ca kwee.

Peeled Green Beans For What?

It can be used for stuffing onde-onde, cakes, bakpia, or sweet bread, which is intentionally made a little dry so that it doesn't go stale easily.

Ingredients

  • 250 gr skinless green beans, wash and then soak overnight or at least 2 hours
  • 1.5 liters of water
  • 200 gr sugar
  • 4 pandan leaves

Thickening

  • 55 gr tapioca flour
  • 100 ml boiled water
  • Mix and mix well.

Toppings

  • Cakwe, cut into small pieces (Cakwe recipe is on my YouTube too, yes)

How to make

  • 1. Steam the green beans for 30 minutes/until cooked. Once cooked, set aside.
  • 2. Boil water, sugar and pandan leaves until boiling. Remove the pandan leaves.
  • 3. Pour the thickener while stirring. Bring back to a boil, turn off the stove.
  • 4. Enter the steamed green beans, mix well. Enjoy while it's still hot with chunks of cakwe.
