Chocolate Mekar Steamed Sponge (no Mixer)
Ingredients
- 200 gr sugar
- pinch of salt
- 200 ml liquid milk/plain water
- 40 gr chocolate sweetened condensed milk (1 sachet)
- 1 egg, beaten off
- 225 gr medium protein flour
- 25 gr cocoa powder good quality
- 1 tbsp muncung milk powder
- 1/2 tsp double acting baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 70 grams of margarine + 30 grams of oil, melted
- Handful of choco chips
Method
- Dissolve sugar and salt in water/liquid milk until completely dissolved. set aside
- Heat the steamer.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, milk powder, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla, mix well. Pour the sugar solution while stirring gently with a whisk until well blended. Add the sweetened condensed milk chocolate, mix well. Add the beaten eggs, mix well, lastly add the oil, stir until smooth. Don't over mix, just enough to mix the dough evenly. The dough is a little thick and heavy.
- Pour the mixture into the steamed sponge mold that has been lined with a paper cup until it is half filled, sprinkle with choco chips and then cover again with the dough until it is full.
- Steam for about 15 minutes over high heat.
