Ingredients for Chocolate Banana Cake

  • 120 gr butter, room temperature
  • 140 gr sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 medium size super ripe bananas, mashed
  • 180 g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 ml thick yogurt
  • 30 gr cocoa powder

How to Make Chocolate Banana Cake

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180C. Prepare a loaf pan, line it with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar with a whisk until well combined. Add eggs, yogurt, vanilla extract, and mashed banana. Beat until evenly distributed.
  • 3. Add flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Stir with a spatula until a smooth, lump-free dough is formed.
  • 4. Prepare another container. Pour 1/3 of the batter. Add cocoa powder. Knead until the dough is smooth.
  • 5. Now we have 2 doughs; white and brown.
  • 6. Take 3 tablespoons of white dough, pour it into the pan. Flatten. Continue by pouring 3 tablespoons of the chocolate batter. Continue this step until the dough runs out. Then with the tip of a knife, knead the dough just enough. Smooth the surface.
  • 7. Bake in the oven for 45-60 minutes until the center of the cake is perfectly cooked (do a toothpick test). Turn off the oven. Allow the cake to cool slightly on a wiring rack before cutting.
